I have successfully built a career in the financial services industry over the last 15 years. During this time, I have managed to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and experience I believe are of vital importance when seeking to establish and maintain successful and long-lasting client relationships.
Having previously worked with my trusted friend Matthew at a financial services role, where we shared similar ethics and values, I decided to join his successful team here at Victoria Financial Solutions Ltd. Prior to this change, I was a bank manager for many years, before being selected onto a Financial Planning Academy. After successful graduation, with the support of a highly regarded mentor, I left the bank and pursued the career I always wanted.
Ranging from investment, mortgage and pension advice for individuals and businesses, to tax-planning and family protection, I spend time finding out what’s important to you so that everything is tailored to your individual circumstances.
As a commitment to building and maintaining long-term relationships, I am passionate about face-to-face regular reviews, so that as your circumstances change, as invariably they will, I’m there to help guide you along the way.
When I am not helping clients, I enjoy a wide range of hobbies including playing golf, 5-a-side football and walking the dog. I often take part in activities with a local men’s mental health charity, which includes hiking and cold-water dips! Finally, I enjoy staycations with my wife Gemma, however these have taken a step back more recently with the arrival of our first child Arthur.
Tax planning is not regulated by the Financial conduct Authority.
I started my career in the Halifax bank, where I built my core skills and values that are instilled in me today. I became a mortgage adviser at the age of 19, and after many successful years I knew I was ready to branch out on my own. In 2015, I achieved my dream in setting up the company Victoria Financial Solutions Ltd. After some tough initial years, I’m humbled, to have grown my mortgage practice into the financial adviser firm that it is today. I’m very proud of my achievements, with our own office and a great team around me.
I had first met with Lewis, our Financial Adviser, at the Halifax Bank in Newport. We quickly became friends and had the same passion and drive to help customers as we do today. Although our paths went in different directions, I am delighted to have him on board at Victoria Financial Solutions, broadening our advice offering to our clients.
Ranging from Mortgages for individuals and businesses, to Family Protection, I spend time understanding you. I am very knowledgeable, and have 15 years’ experience in mortgage advice. I’m hands-on, and prefer to work on a face to face basis. To me, trusting a client is equally important as a client trusting you, and I firmly believe a business is built on having great relationships.
When I am not helping clients and running the business, you’ll find me in the pool, on the bike or out running the roads. I completed the Tenby Iron Man 2023, and I’m hungry to do even better in 2024! Finally, I enjoy spending time in Tenby with my Wife Sarah, and 2 children Ollie and Rosie.
I have been a part of VFS since the age of 18 and have spent many years supporting clients with their financial needs. I welcome the family-run aspect of the business, as I believe this to be very important when connecting with clients. Alongside my time working here, I successfully completed a degree with the University of South Wales; I am also an avid traveller, and love exploring as often as possible and seeing the world outside this small village that I was born and raised in.
I have worked at VFS for 4 years, whilst also studying for my degree. I enjoy planning and organising, and the administrative aspect of the role suits me well. I live local and have recently married my long-term partner, Steve. We enjoy socialising, going to concerts and family time.
